About Me

Hi! I'm Laura, the owner and founder of Modesty by Laura. 

I'm so happy that you were able to discover my blog where I get to share with you things that I am passionate about. Mainly for my love of yarn. From time to time, you may see some r some Korean-related things, which I hope will interest you because, well, I am a Korean-American.

While I've only known how to crochet for a few years, I've known how to knit for about 28+ years. My maternal grandmother taught me one day when I was around 6 years old and surprisingly I never forgot how to cast on stitches, knit, or purl.

Through the years, I have knitted on and off during different seasons of my life. Knitting needles were always present wherever I was even if I wasn't an active maker at different life stages. The year after my twins were born (Caleb and Sophia were born in 2016), I decided to pick up crochet. It was quite addictive and I've never looked back since.

Besides being a designer and maker, I am a stay-at-home homeschooling mother to three children. They keep life busy as they are always moving and always hungry.

I hope that you decide to subscribe to this blog and also stay connected with me via social media. This blogging and maker journey has been one of the greatest gifts that I had the pleasure of being an active participant in. The fiber arts community has been wonderful and encouraging. I have met some amazing people and I hope that this journey never loses flame because it has given me so much to look forward to in my daily life.
